Finding Courage

Have you heard of Dr David Hawkins' scale of consciousness? David Hawkins was a renowned psychiatrist, physician, researcher, spiritual teacher and lecturer.

In his book "Power vs. Force" Hawkins introduced a scale of expanding levels of consciousness that he calibrated using the methods of muscle testing and kinesiology.

He presents a vibration scale which consists of a hierarchy of levels of human consciousness on a scale of 1 to 1000, where 1 is simply being alive and 1000 is an advanced state of enlightenment.

From low to high, the levels of consciousness are: shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, pride, courage, neutrality, willingness, acceptance, reason, love, joy, peace, enlightenment.

Courage calibrates at 200 on the Map of Consciousness. Dr. Hawkins refers to the courage level of consciousness as the attitude of “I can”.

The level of consciousness of courage is what Dr. Hawkins considered a spiritual gateway into higher consciousness.

At the level of courage, you will have the courage to express all of who you really are.

It is also important to note that when you are living at levels below courage you will believe that your happiness comes from outside yourself. Once you calibrate at the level of courage and above, you will have the power to express and create your happiness from within!

Raising Your Level of Consciousness
According to Hawkins, everything that is around you can affect your level of consciousness: the music you listen to, the people you spend time with, the books you read, the art you create, the shows that you watch, etc.

Practicing meditation, exercising your creativity, reading spiritual books, eating high vibration foods, spending time in nature, or working with a spiritual guide can help you raise your vibration.
