STUDIO TIME
A Depth-Oriented Creative Practice Circle
Want to Deepen Your Creative Practice?
Would you like to discover surprising, intuitive, meditative, and spontaneous ways to connect with your inner world? Why not join me live on video every Thursday at noon Mountain Time for some expressive arts suggestions and open studio time to work on your current creative practice?
Each session, log in to the live video classroom, and I will lead you into an intuitive art exercise to support your emotional healing journey. There will be optional sharing at the end.
We begin with me leading an intuitive art or exercise for about 20 minutes. We then work in silence on our creative projects for at least 30 minutes to work on our creative practice. We will share the insights gained from our creative practice at the end.
Creative Practice Circle Logistics
Weekly support is provided to help you explore Depth Creativity and nurture your creative and emotional self. We meet in the video classroom for one hour.
Weekly Meeting
Every THURSDAY, NOON (CANADA, CALGARY - MOUNTAIN TIME)
Convert to your time
How it works:
- At noon Mountain time on Thursdays, you will receive an email with a link to the live classroom inside of my course platform.
- I will lead you into an intuitive art exercise for the first 20-30 minutes.
- We will quietly work on our creative practices, with our cameras on or off, for 20 minutes.
- I will point my camera at my art-making process. You are welcome to do the same.
- At 12:50 pm, we’ll briefly share our insights from our creative process.
- At 1 pm Mountain time, the video session room will close.
The Creative Practice Circle will not be recorded, so please join us and enjoy the live experience of creating together.
Mark it on your calendar. I will send you a reminder just before it goes live with an art supply list for the session.
Once you sign up, I will email you a link to my private video classroom when the session is about to start, so no Zoom is required.
*Sharing is optional—no pressure to perform in front of the group. Join me to free up your creative expression!

- Work on your creative practice in the company of others
BENEFIT #1:
Depth Creativity in
CONNECTION
Creating can sometimes feel lonely. Sessions include optional group connection time and quiet, creative time. I will lead a weekly expressive art and writing exercise, and then place my camera on my art as I work on my creative practice alongside you. You can choose to turn your camera off for a more immersive experience in your practice.
BENEFIT #2:
EXPERIMENTAL art and writing processes
Sometimes the creative well runs dry when on your own. Each week, I offer a fresh, spontaneous art and writing warm-up exercise to get your creative juices flowing again and support you to heal emotionally. You can choose to elaborate on the week's theme or take the creative spark and incorporate it into your current creative practice.
BENEFIT #3:
Deepen Into Your COURSEWORK
Learn new ways of approaching your coursework. Weekly demonstrations on all aspects of intuitive, spontaneous creativity will support you to expand on your course lessons in your own creative way.
Benefit #4:
PRIVATE sharing
It can feel inhibiting to share when sessions are recorded. Weekly Creative Practice Circles will NOT be recorded, so you can feel freer to share yourself with the group if you choose. No pressure to share if you don't want to. Bring your supportive presence, and please feel welcome to come with your camera on or off.
Benefit #5: MOTIVATION for regular creative practice
Maintaining a creative practice can be challenging on your own. Join a group of creative women from around the world to spark your creative practice. Cross-fertilize your art and writing by witnessing other women's unique responses to the weekly intuitive art exercises.
Benefit #6:
Higher Creative
INSPIRATION
It is helpful to join a supportive creative container with others who are travelling the same journey or taking the same course. While this is not a therapy group, I offer creative inspiration each week to support your emotional healing journey.
I'M SHELLEY.
I am a depth-oriented psychotherapist and an educator with the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. I welcome you to Live Studio every Thursday, where I support you in opening doors to your deeper self through Depth Creativity and in discovering surprising ways to heal yourself emotionally.
IS THE CREATIVE PRACTICE CIRCLE RIGHT FOR YOU?
You will be best suited for this group if you are a creative woman who wants to explore expressive art and writing in the amplified presence of a group setting, while also learning new ways to deepen your creative practices.
Depth Creativity utilizes spontaneous art and writing exercises to access your subconscious mind, so prepare to be surprised by what you discover about yourself. You are invited to bring your creative practice to work on during the session.
This is not a therapy group, but meditative, spontaneous play with images, symbols, words, colours and metaphors will be explored to deepen your emotional connection to yourself and further your self-healing journey.
